ZLT Automation | Our Capabilities| Robot Handling

Overview
ZLT Automation provides robot handling solutions for leading UK companies in most of the main industries including amongst others food, woodworking and process handling Industries. All systems have been successfully installed by utilising leading robot technology supplied by Motoman Robotics. In conjunction with the provision of ZLT modular robot interface control systems, on site robot cell installation and strong project management, robot handling systems have been successfully integrated into new and existing customer manufacturing processes.

Scope of Supply
(Standard robot cell)

Main items:
a) Multi-axis Motoman Robot and dedicated PC based controller.
b) Modular interface control panels for safety systems and power switching equipment.
c) Operator interface pushbutton stations.
d) Associated guarding and safety equipment.
e) Robot attachments.

Technical
The robots are of the multi axis servo controlled type selected from the Motoman extensive range of rigid design robots supporting high speed movements and heavy payloads. All robots are supplied with a standard range of electrical and mechanical interface attachments together with load handling attachment (gripper) to suit the
customer load handling requirements. The PC based robot controller with integrated Plc provides high path accuracy and motion control for each axis with the ability to offer unlimited communications with other systems. A user friendly touch screen pendant provides access to all operations of the robot from programming to maintenance. Interface electrics for control and interface to power and safety elements forming part of the robot cell are designed on a standard modular basis for isolation and separation purposes allowing flexibility of installation and future expansion capability.
Cell guarding is effected by aluminium fencing components having welded mesh infill panels. The guarding is supplied with door access as required and all necessary safety interlock switches and safety light barrier systems to form the complete safety system. Functional testing of the cell and pre commissioning software trials are carried out before delivery of the cell. On completion of the cell build at the customers premises, software commissioning and functionality to meet the customers performance criteria are completed by commissioning engineers before final handover.

Summary

By the use of standard components and a
modular approach to all customer application requirements our robot handling solutions are designed to be cost effective and flexible in their installation and operation.
